Online Backup:

What is the benefit of online backup?

There are many benefits of online backup. First, backups can be done automatically and unattended since there aren't any tapes or disks which need to be monitored. Second, the data is stored in secure data centers, geographically separated from your computer. Third, no one needs to remember to take tapes or DVDs to an off-site location. Fourth, all backed up data is heavily encrypted and is available only through the backup software itself, making your data inaccessible to hackers or thieves, whereas there are many stories of backup tapes with sensitive data being stolen or compromised. Fifth, this method of data protection is cost-effective because it requires no up-front hardware investment and no continuing investment in backup hardware, disks and tapes. Sixth, it is portable and conveniently available through any Internet connection. Last and maybe most important of all, online backup protects your backups. Many standard backups won't survive the loss of your computer, like theft, fire, natural disaster, etc.
